Our client is a leading insurance and risk management firm providing a full suite of services across underwriting, actuarial analysis, claims management, and risk assessment. Due to strong growth and expansion, they are now seeking a highly motivated Insurance Analyst to join their London-based analytics and reporting team.

This is an excellent opportunity for degree-qualified candidates who are looking to develop a long-term career in insurance, risk management, or actuarial analytics. The successful candidate will work closely with senior analysts and actuaries, gaining exposure to advanced insurance data modelling, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance frameworks.

The Role

As an Insurance Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting underwriting and risk teams with data analysis, reporting, and performance tracking. You will provide actionable insights into claims, risk exposure, and portfolio performance, assisting in decision-making processes across insurance operations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse insurance data, claims, and underwriting information to identify trends and risk exposure
  • Build and maintain models for risk assessment, pricing, and performance monitoring
  • Prepare management reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal stakeholders
  • Support actuarial teams with data validation, statistical analysis, and scenario testing
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance tasks in line with regulatory standards
  • Work closely with underwriting and claims teams to improve processes and support decision-making

The Candidate

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline is required
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in Excel and statistical/data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, or similar)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • A thorough understanding of the Prudential Regulation Authority’s prudential requirements and the Financial Conduct Authority’s conduct regulations, and how they impact insurance operations and risk management, is essential
  • Strong interest in developing a long-term career in insurance analytics, risk management, or actuarial services
